Poems made from a succession of couplets, typically written in the following metrical structure:

  1. dactylic hexameter (ONE two three TWO two three THREE two three FOUR two three FIVE two three SIX two three)
  2. dactylic pentameter (ONE two three TWO two three THREE two three FOUR two three FIVE two three)

rhyme scheme:  any/none

titles:  yes

subjects: mourning, solitude, eulogizing

Twitter-ready:  one couplet may fit if each line is cut by 1 or 2 metrical feet
